BIOGRAPHY OF IFEDOLAPO OLUWADAMILOLA ADEDIPE

Ifedolapo Oluwadamilola Adedipe was born on the 3rd of August 1991 to the family of Dr. ’Biodun and Mrs. ‘Toun Adedipe, and grew up in a Christian home where she was taught Biblical principles and the truth right from the early stage of her life. She fellowshipped at Christ Chapel International Churches, Isolo Worship Centre and she was active in the Youth Fellowship of the church.

She started her education with Sunbeam Nursery and Primary School, Akowonjo and when her family relocated to Isolo, she moved to Laurel Nursery and Primary School in Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos where she completed her primary school education in 2000. Thereafter, she proceeded to Dansol High School, Ikeja, Lagos for her secondary education from 2000 to 2006.

Dolapo always had an eye for finance and passion for research and analysis. This passion and desire influenced her choice to study Economics at the prestigious Covenant University Otta in Ogun State, Nigeria, from where she graduated in 2010 with a Second Class Upper degree in Economics.

Immediately after her graduation, she was given an unconditional admission to study Economics at the postgraduate school of the University of Sussex, Brighton in the United Kingdom. She graduated in 2011 with M.Sc. in Economics with specialisation in Development Economics.

Between March and June 2012, she attended the London School of Business and Finance, London, United Kingdom where she attended classes relating to the curriculum of the first level of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) examinations.  She passed the Level 1 of the CFA exam at the first sitting in July 2012 (among the 38% that passed worldwide) and sat for the Level 2 exam in June 2013.

She served as an Intern in some respected organisations, including Cake Place, Lagos between October 2007 and July 2009 as Business Developer/Sales Representative and B. Adedipe Associates Limited, Victoria Island, Lagos as a Research Assistant during July to September of each of the years 2008 to 2010.

After her Masters’ degree programme in the United Kingdom, she served as a Volunteer/Retail Assistant at the British Heart Foundation, Brighton, United Kingdom between March 2012 and June 2012. These helped her develop competencies in diverse areas, some of which included compilation and computation of data, analysing data using Microsoft Excel, preparing reports/feedback with results from analysis, preparing papers and presentation slides, and communicating effectively with people in a business environment.

In June 2012, she returned to Nigeria to observe the compulsory National Youth Service programme of the Federal Government of Nigeria and was posted to Oyo State, with her primary assignment at the Estate High School, Akobo, Ibadan as Economics and IT teacher for the Senior Secondary School. This she finished in June 2013.

She started work in B. Adedipe Associates Limited as a full-time Consultant on 2nd July 2013, but collapsed at home as she was preparing for work in the morning of 4th of July 2013, fell into coma until she slept in the Lord on Tuesday, July 23rd 2013 and was buried on the 16th of August 2013 in Lagos.

Ifedolapo will ever be alive in the hearts of all those who knew her and she will always be remembered for her smiles, love, her optimistic view of life, humility, compassion, caring and giving attitude, her love for Christ and her focus on heaven. Her level of reasoning, wisdom and imaginations were beyond her age.  Her favourite song while she was alive is “I Can Only Imagine”, a song by MercyMe (composed and written by Bart Millard) that envisions what life would be like when we get to heaven and now live permanently with the Lord Jesus.
